Anamaria Marinca is an Romanian actress. She made her screen debut in the Channel 4 film Sex Traffic in which she was awarded the British Academy Television Award for Best actress. Speaks French, German, English and Romanian fluently. Her father, who is a professor of theater at one of Romania's most prestigious theatre schools, is a theatre teacher. She won the Best Female Actor Award for the Year 2000 at the Mangalia Young Actor Gala. It was the European Film Promotion Board named her a European Shooting Star in 2008.
