Audra Mcdonald stands out in the range of her talents and versatility as an actor and singer. Audra McDonald who has won Six Tony Awards in a row and two Grammy Awards in 2015 was named as one of Time magazine's 100 most influential people. President Barack Obama also awarded her the National Medal of Arts -the highest honor in America for achievements in this field. McDonald's Emmy-nominated performance as Emma Thompson on Mike Nichols' HBO film adaptation of Pulitzer Prize winner Wit was directed by Mike Nichols. McDonald's return to the network TV screen came in 2003 when she starred with Josh Brolin in Mister Sterling. The Bedford Diaries, a WB TV show, debuted in the year 2006. She then had an recurring role on NBC's Kidnapped within the next year. In the year 2016, McDonald was nominated for the fourth Emmy Awards for her appearance on HBO's Lady Day at Emerson's Bar Restaurant & Grill, a movie-special. The Bite is a drama with six seasons based around the pandemic that was co-produced by Spectrum Originals & CBS Studios. The show featured her alongside Taylor Schilling & Steven Pasquale. In 2009, she portrayed U.S. Attorney Liz Lawrence in CBS's legal drama The Good Wife. In 2018 McDonald returned to her role as Liz Reddick as a regular on Paramount+'s The Good Fight. She was awarded three Critics Choice Award nods for her performance. In the present, she is an actor in Julian Fellowes' period drama The Gilded Age.
