Awkwafina An American singer and actress began with a series of rap songs which dealt with the subject of race and sexuality. Her career expanded to Hollywood when she dropped a series of raps. The actress was born Nora Lum to Chinese and Korean immigrants within Forest Hills Queens her first taste of musician life came in the form of the trumpet. Apart from classical music and jazz, she started studying hip-hop when she was in her teens. In her studies, she studied journalism as well as women's studies in college even taking classes in Mandarin in Beijing for a time. Her focus shifted to music once she graduated. Her track My Vag which was her reaction to Mickey Avalon's My Dick, became a viral hit on the Internet and eventually appeared on her debut album Yellow Ranger. This album also featured viral hits such as the body positive Queef or winking hometown tour NYC Bitche$. The latter track connected directly with another Awkwafina project NYC a travel guide published in the year 2015. Her resume contained both an the musician and author. Now she was looking to expand her career into acting. Apart from early series like Girl Code and Tawk she was also in films such as Neighbors 2. Storks as well as Bad Rap. In the year 2018, her breakout performances included Dude Ocean's 8, along with Crazy Rich Asians. The EP debuted in June.
